Small Bursaries

We have a number of schemes that offer short-term support to encourage individuals to undertake research in a cancer-related field, or to fund meetings, conferences and collaborations. The schemes include funding for post-doctoral researchers to spend time in a different research group, as well as more substantial funds to allow clinicians or nurses to gain research experience before pursuing a PhD.

Please note: Cancer Research UK no longer provides funding for students on Masters or Diploma courses, or for attendance at workshops or training courses.

This scheme supports scientific meetings and conferences that are being organised or run by Cancer Research UK funded researchers.

More about Conferences and Meetings Support

This scheme aims to encourage clinicians and those in related professions (e.g. nursing, etc.) to undertake short periods of research in order to enhance the understanding between the research and clinical communities.
