The Cancer Research UK Science Funding Committee (SFC) considers applications for funding for large equipment at two meetings per year. The scheme aims to provide support for multi-use items of large equipment that promotes the sharing of resources between research groups. Eligibility
All applications to the large equipment scheme must be discussed in advance with staff in the Research Funding Department prior to submission.
The principle applicant to the scheme must hold Cancer Research UK funding, either a programme grant from Science Funding Committee (SFC) or Population and Behavioural Sciences Committee (PBSC), a Senior Cancer/Clinical Research Fellowship or Career Development Fellowship.
All co-applicants to the scheme should also hold Cancer Research UK awards such as programme or project funding. The research grouping will therefore be expected to hold substantive Cancer Research funding.
Value
Applications will be considered for equipment between £50,000 and £250,000. The scheme will only provide funding for the direct costs of purchasing equipment and service contracts.
