System requirements

You can access eGMS via the following URL: https://egms.cancerresearchuk.org

In order to use eGMS you will need:

  • A computer with internet access
  • An email address
  • For Windows users - Internet Explorer version 6.0 or above, or Firefox version 2.0 and above
  • For Apple users - Firefox version 2.0 or above or Safari version 3.1
  • For Linux users - Firefox version 2.0 or above
  • A PDF reader - Adobe version 7.0 or above (if you do not have a PDF reader, you can download a free PDF reader from the Adobe website)

eGMS is a web-based system and will not install any additional software onto your computer

Note: eGMS is not fully compatible with other browsers such as Netscape and Opera. For further information, please see the system requirements information above or contact the eGMS grants helpline.

Pop-up blockers

Some sections of eGMS launch and display in a secondary browser window. If your browser blocks pop-up windows, please follow the relevant instructions to allow pop-up windows from this domain.

Please note, if you are using Internet Explorer version 7.0, please ensure that you uncheck the 'do not save encrypted files to disk' option, in the security settings:

Tools » Internet options » Advanced tab » uncheck 'Do not save encrypted pages to disk' option.

Cookies information

Cancer Research UK's eGMS uses cookies. You must have cookies enabled on your computer in order for all functionality on this site to work properly. This is the default setting for Internet Explorer. Please refer to your browser's help for more information about enabling cookies.

 

Security requirements

Access to eGMS over the internet is secured using 128-bit SSL encryption. This is the standard encryption used by online banking and any online credit card transactions.

The only individuals who will be able to see your application are those who you have nominated to support your application; your administrative department; peer reviewers (where appropriate) and Cancer Research UK staff who will process your application.
