Research Goals

To ensure a high quality service for patients with urological cancer, supported by integrated programmes of clinical, translational and basic research.

To develop a comprehensive bio-repository, which will enable development of bio-markers.

To better understand how men develop androgen-independent prostate cancer by studying the molecular mechanisms of deranged androgen signalling.

Urological surgeon and Professor of Surgical Oncology.
Member of Cancer Research UK Project Grants Committee
Medical Member of Post Graduate Medical Education and Training Board (PMETB).
Member of Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2008, Cancer Sub-panel.
Elected member of Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Previous Chair of Surgery and Director of Research, University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Joined the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Research Institute in summer 2006.
