Our research goal is the development of advanced non-linear imaging in combination with the application of multi-photon imaging with fluorescence life-time information as well as second harmonic imaging (SHG) for tumour detection in live cells and biopsies. A new challenge is the specific imaging of molecules in tissues without the need for staining or marker expression. We are also developing new methods for applying confocal and multiphoton methods to large specimens such as intact mouse embryos.
