Research Goals
The research of this group centres on the molecular mechanisms regulating cell proliferation, which are fundamental to an understanding of both cancer and a major sub-set of age-related diseases. Specifically we are studying: A. The signal pathways by which oncogenes and growth factors stimulate cell division. B. The mechanisms which limit the number of times a cell can divide even when maximally stimulated (with particular reference to the role of tumour suppressor genes).
