Research Goals
By careful assessment of screening programmes, to evolve early detection strategies which are effective in reducing mortality from cancer without incurring a severe burden of anxiety, diagnostic activity and overdiagnosis. To develop evaluation techniques for preventive and early detection interventions in high risk groups, taking into account disease aetiology and risk markers.
