The Gray Cancer Institute (formerly known as The Gray Laboratory) in Northwood, Middlesex is a centre for radiation research applied to cancer treatment. The Institute scientists work in close collaboration with the clinicians in Mount Vernon Hospital.
The Gray Laboratory was founded in the 1950s and was wholly owned by the Cancer Research Campaign until 1995 when the ownership was transferred to an independent Trust. The CRC, and now Cancer Research UK, continues to provide a substantial proportion of the funding for the Institute. Research support is awarded for several Research Groups and the Directors of these groups are listed below. In addition several scientists are listed whose research within the groups is supplemented by competitively won grants. |
