The Institute of Cancer Research, together with the Royal Marsden NHS Trust, forms the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe and one of the largest in the world.
Cancer Research UK provides substantial funding to the Institute to support three Academic Chairs, a number of research programmes and the two Centres:
- Cancer Research UK Centre for Cell and Molecular Biology
- Cancer Research UK Centre for Cancer Therapeutics
The work of the Institute ranges from basic laboratory research in molecular cell biology to radiation physics, structural biology, medical imaging, epidemiological studies and clinical trials.
