Advisor: Prof Alan HallMichelle D. Garrett received her PhD (Biochemistry) from the University of London in 1991. She then moved to the USA and carried out post-doctoral training at Yale University School of Medicine. In 1994 Michelle joined Onyx Pharmaceuticals, California, USA, where she went on to become a team leader involved in the development of cancer drugs targeting the cell cycle.
Since 1999 she has been a team leader at The Institute of Cancer Research, Sutton, UK.
