Spiros Linardopoulos PhD joined The Institute of Cancer Research in 2000. He holds a joint appointment as Team Leader in both the Cancer Research UK Centre for Cancer Therapeutics and Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Centre.In 1997, Dr Linardopoulos joined Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Richmond, CA, USA as a Scientist and Project Leader. Before his move to the USA, Dr Linardopoulos was awarded a Marie Curie Research Fellowship from the European Community and completed three years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research, Glasgow (1993-1997).
Dr Linardopoulos pursued his graduate studies in the laboratory of Biotechnology at the National Hellenic Research Foundation and obtained his PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Faculty of Biology at University of Athens, Greece (1989-1993).
He is currently a member of several professional organisations, including the American association for Cancer Research (AACR), Marie Curie Fellowship Association, the Greek Chemical Society, the Hellenic Biochemical and Biophysical Societies and he is a Honorary Member of the Balkan Union of Oncology.
