Research Goals
- Preclinical and clinical studies characterising and optimising the immune response to the MUC1 gene product, focusing on the use of DNA-based formulations and T cell responses.
- Immune responses to MUC1 peptides, glycopeptides and glycoprotein synthesised chemo-enzymically or by recombinant DNA technology.
- Studies on mechanisms underlying the changes in expression and/or function of specific glycosyltrans-ferases in breast cancer.
- Investigation of the function of the novel PLU-1 gene product in regulation of gene expression in somatic and meiotic cells and evaluation of PLU-1 as a possible target antigen.
