Our major aims are to understand the structure and functioning of the genome and the role of genetic aberrations in cancer.

1980: DPhil, Oxford University
1980-1983: Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Imperial Cancer Research Fund (now known as Cancer Research UK London Research Institute)
1983-2006: Head of Human Cytogenetics Laboratory, Imperial Cancer Research Fund/Cancer Research UK London Research Institute.
2006 to present: Professor of Human Genetics, Neuroscience Centre, Institute of Cell and Molecular Science, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry.
