Scientific summary

Mis-regulation of microtubules could lead to aneuploidy and disruption of cell polarity/differentiation, both of which are contributing factors of carcinogenesis. In addition, the microtubule is a proven target of anti-cancer drugs. Dr Ohkura and his team aim to dissect how microtubules are regulated at the molecular level in the context of the cell cycle and development via a genetics-led multi-disciplinary approach using Drosophila as a model system.
