Dr Esashi aims to elucidate molecular mechanisms of genome integrity control, specifically to shed light on the roles of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) and polo-like kinase 1 (Plk1), master regulators of cell division, in DNA double strand break (DSB) repair.
