Elizabeth Smythe

Endocytosis allows the cellular uptake of a variety of biologically important macromolecules including nutrients and signalling molecules. The lab of Professor Smythe is interested in the molecular mechanisms of cargo sorting along the endocytic pathway with particular emphasis on the regulation of the clathrin coated vesicle cycle by rab5 and reversible phosphorylation.
