The DDO has advanced a range of anticancer agents with diverse mechanisms of action into Phase I clinical trials.

The DDO has established a large number of collaborations with academia and the Pharma and Biotech industries. Through these collaborations, five agents, advanced through clinical trials by the DDO, have subsequently been launched onto the market:
- Temodar® (Temozolomide), in collaboration with Schering Plough, used for the treatment of high grade glioma
- Etopophos® (Etoposide Phosphate), in collaboration with Bristol Myers Squibb, used in the treatment of refractory testicular tumours and small cell lung cancer
- Lentaron (4-Hydroxyandrostenedione, Formestane), in collaboration with Novartis, used in the treatment of advanced breast cancer
- Lozoxantrone (Biantrazole, DUP941/CI941), in collaboration with DuPont/Parke Davis, used for the treatment of patients with advanced breast cancer
- Zinecard® (ICRF159, dexrazoxane) in collaboration with Pfizer, is cardioprotective for use in patientis receiving doxorubicin.
A number of additional agents advanced through early stage clinical studies by the DDO are currently in Phase II and Phase III trials.
