Graduate opportunities
PhD opportunities for science graduates and clinicians.
Cancer Research UK is committed to developing and training the next generation of high-quality researchers. We currently fund over 400 PhD students and graduate clinical fellows throughout the UK in our Centres and Institutes. Our training programmes allow the brightest graduates time to develop their research interests in a supportive environment.
PhD studentships are funded for four years, and provide a generous stipend and research expenses. Our Clinical Research Training Fellowships last for three years and include your salary, based on your current career stage, and research expenses.
Our Institutes are recognised world-wide as centres of excellence in cancer research. Institutes are affiliated to a University, from which you will receive your degree. Most Institutes advertise competitive studentships and fellowships once a year. For further details please visit the Institutes pages
We also offer PhD opportunities through our Cancer Centres. Most of them offer studentships and fellowships once a year on a competitive basis. To find out more about these schemes you should contact the Centre you are interested in working in. There are details about many of our training opportunities on the Science Jobs Board.
